PAPILLION HIGH HISTORY OF SPORTS GOES TO PRESS
DON JOERN, long time Papio/LaVista Junior High teacher and coach, has recently completed a sports history of old Papillion High School. The 900 page book includes the years 1900 to 1969. Don got his material by researching the Papillion Times in an exhaustive project that took two and a half years. The articles are typed in a neat and orderly year-to-year format.
Eventually the whole volume will be available for purchase, but for now we are printing the decade of the 1960’s to coincide with the upcoming 60’ Decade Reunion, 300 plus pages of Papillion sports articles during the 1960’s.
Bill Aken, who taught with Don for years, has added a cover page, table of contents, forward and acknowledgments as the icing on this impressive project.
Also, thanks to the following business partners who have helped make this project possible. Papillion Sump Memorial Library, Daniell Crossing, Dort’s Bar and Grill, Lily Landscaping, P-LV School Foundation, Bob Kremke-Jim Seawards, Dennis Smith, Brentwood Auto Wash, Tilford Printing and Gladwin Machinery.
We are unsure of the printing costs at this time, but expect it to cost around $20.00.

Please join us - August 13, 2011 at the Coco Key Water Resort (originally Holiday Inn) Ballroom at 72nd & Grover in Omaha, for a Papillion-La Vista reunion of all classes from 1960-1969. We will start the evening off with cocktails (cash bar) at 5:00 followed by a sit-down dinner at 6:00. Johnny O will be our DJ for the night playing all 60's music. (Casual Attire)
If you have any memorabilia (lettermens jacket, Pep Club Sweater, FFA Jacket) anything that you would like to bring along please do.
